Camp Geronimo – June 2026

Our troops had an amazing week at Camp Geronimo this year! Our scouts earned dozens of merit badges, completed service projects, hiked East Webber, braved the Polar Bear Plunge and the Tenderfoot Run, marked off so many requirements that they requested a record number of Scoutmaster Conferences and Boards of Review, and even took home Big G Gold! We are proud of our youth leaders and all our scouts, and so grateful for our scouters who helped them do their best.

Milo Eagle Project – May/June 2026

Our troops helped Milo with his Eagle Project! Milo and our scouts spent months planning and building two little libraries for the Sunnyslope Youth Center. Then they helped him install them on Friday, June 12th. They also cleaned the entire grounds at the center as well as the park next to it. They removed graffiti, picked up trash, and raked the area. Our troop was happy to help the youth center, and put our best efforts in!

Gecko climbing gym – May 2026

Our scouts assembled at Gecko Climbing Gym on May 26 to spend time rock climbing! They learned safety procedures, then spent several hours on the gym’s numerous rock walls and bouldering courses. Even some of the adults took a turn scaling the walls. They all had a fun time, and learned some cool new skills.

Knoll Lake – May, 2026

Our scouts had a beginner’s backpacking outing on May 16-17 on our annual trip to Knoll Lake. Our scouts hiked approximately two miles, cooked dinner, and spent the night on the shores of the lake on the Mogollon Rim. Afterward, they hiked two miles back and returned home.

Ava’s Eagle Project – May 2026

Our scouts assembled at Thunderbird High School on May 2nd to complete Ava’s Eagle Project. Under the leadership of Ava, our scouts greatly improved the school’s garden area, trimming branches, removing an old rotting trellis, and installing a handrail across a rocky area. The area is used by the school’s special education students and the handrail gave them a much safer way to reach the garden.
