Troops 323 & 3323 Phoenix Arizona
Our scouts assembled at Gecko Climbing Gym on May 26 to spend time rock climbing! They learned safety procedures, then spent several hours on the gym’s numerous rock walls and bouldering courses. Even some of the adults took a turn scaling the walls. They all had a fun time, and learned some cool new skills.
Our scouts had a beginner’s backpacking outing on May 16-17 on our annual trip to Knoll Lake. Our scouts hiked approximately two miles, cooked dinner, and spent the night on the shores of the lake on the Mogollon Rim. Afterward, they hiked two miles back and returned home.
Our scouts assembled at Thunderbird High School on May 2nd to complete Ava’s Eagle Project. Under the leadership of Ava, our scouts greatly improved the school’s garden area, trimming branches, removing an old rotting trellis, and installing a handrail across a rocky area. The area is used by the school’s special education students and the handrail gave them a much safer way to reach the garden.
Our scouts assembled at Seven Springs Recreation Area on April 25th for a joint campout with Cub Scout Pack 323. Our troops taught the new scouts how to tie knots, carve soap, build paper airplanes, and how to start a fire. Afterward, we all ate dinner and some delicious cherry and peach cobblers for dessert! After telling scary stories, and somehow still managing to sleep through the night, our scouts packed up camp, and returned home.
On May 9th, 2026, Our scouts assembled at All Saints Lutheran Church in order to celebrate Anya, Thomas, and Nathan earning their Eagle Scout rank! A ceremony was held for them, with a real, live, bald eagle, and our new Eagle Scouts gave speeches about their experience. Afterward, our scouts enjoyed refreshments in the Fellowship Hall.
