Nine scouts went to Catalina Island as part of our end-of-year trip in July 2025. It was a high-adventure outing for the Venture Patrol, and scouts prepared for it for several weeks. The group first had to drive to LA, then take a boat to the island. They hiked to their first campsite, stayed the night, then hiked to the next one. They had lots of fun swimming, and on the way home, they stopped at an aquarium. We’re glad to have had this outing!
Our troops camped at R-C in May 2025, and taught many skills to the Cub Scouts of Pack 323! We set up several stations, through which the Cubs learned knife safety, how to start a fire, and how to tie fundamental knots. Afterward, our troops cooked dinner, and then baked delicious peach and cherry cobblers for desert. We’re proud to support Pack 323!
Our Venture Patrol visited Flagstaff Extreme in April 2025, where they navigated an obstacle course nearly 60 feet off the ground! They learned the safety procedures for the course, before having a great time attempting to complete it. Most of the patrol finished the entire course and some of them even completed the extra-challenging section. Then everyone ate ice cream afterward.
Howie constructed several benches for Liberty Wildlife for his Eagle Project in February 2025. On the first day of his project, he led our scouts in painting the cinder blocks we’d use, and adding primer to the wood planks to protect them. On the second day, we moved the materials into place and constructed the benches, after flattening the ground around them so they’d be level.
For his Eagle Project in January 2025, Hari built a greenhouse at his middle school. His crew had to level the ground first, then assemble all of the greenhouse pieces, build it, and ensure it was secure. It took nearly 12 hours to complete the project, but now students are able to learn more by growing their own plants!
