How
We Are Organized
Led
by Boys, Assisted by Adults
The
Troop is led by the Senior Patrol Leader - a Scout elected by all the
other Scouts. He is assisted by the Scoutmaster.
The
Troop consists of 5 patrols (the Bighorns, the
Blue
Coyotes, the Falcons, the Vikings and the
Wolverines). Each Patrol is led by an elected
Patrol Leader and his chosen Assistant Patrol Leader. Each patrol also
has at least one Patrol Counselor/Advisor - an adult who provides guidance and
training to the Patrol Leader.
We
hold 2 Troop meetings a month at The All Saints Lutheran Church - on the
2nd and 4th Tuesday of each month, from 7:00 pm until 8:00 pm. Our
Scout Year runs September through April - we take a break for summer
from June through August. You should check the Troop calendar from
to time in case we have to occasionally adjust this schedule.
Patrols
arrange their own meetings, but in general they typically hold meetings
in the 1st and 2nd weeks of each month at a time and location agreed
upon by the Scouts in that Patrol.
We
have an active program of outings and activities
throughout the Scout Year,
plus an annual summer camp. Our outings range from comfortable car
camps (where we can drive to the camp and take all our luxuries with
us), to backpacking trips (where we hike 4 - 6 miles into the Arizona
wilderness for an overnight camp, and therefore strive for minimum
pack weight). We also have an annual bike outing (in
December) and winter skiing outing in (January).
Associated
with the Troop there is a Cub Scout Pack (Pack
323), and a Venturing Crew (Crew 323) for our older scouts seeking high adventure.
