Web Site Policy

A Scout is Trustworthy, Loyal, Helpful, Friendly, Courteous, Kind, Obedient, Cheerful, Thrifty, Brave, Clean, and Reverent.

Purpose

The purpose of this policy is to protect individual users, as well as the Unit (i.e. Pack 323, Troop 323 and Crew 323).  This site is open to the world and thus a degree of protection is required.  The Unit is committed to respecting and protecting the personal privacy of its members and those who visit this web site.  

Policy

Authorized Users

Anyone shall be entitled to access this web site to gather information about the organization, activities and affiliations of the Unit.  Certain areas of the web site may contain individually identifiable information and shall therefore be secured for authorized users only, accessible by a personal UserID and password.

All registered members of Pack 323, Troop 323 and Crew 323, plus Unit leadership will be authorized as users of the secure area of the web site.  

UserID's & Passwords

The webmaster will assign authorized users a valid UserID and password upon registration, and will maintain a list of authorized users, their UserID's and passwords.

Authorized users are entitled to share their UserID and password with their parent(s) and/or legal guardian(s) only.

Users may request a new UserID and/or password from time to time by emailing the webmaster at webmaster@phoenix323.org.

The webmaster may from time to time change your UserID and/or password for any reason and without notice.  You will receive an e-mail notification.

Security of UserID's & Passwords

UserID's and passwords should be kept private, and are not to be given to anyone not authorized to access the secure area of the web site

Users who fail to protect their password and jeopardize the security of the information on this web site may have their access privileges removed.

If the webmaster suspects a breach of the security of the web site he may temporarily disable the secure area until such breach is resolved.

Accessing the Secure Area 

Any attempt to gain unauthorized access to a secure area of the web site can be grounds for removal of the user's access privileges.   If you access a secure area by accident, please report this to the webmaster so corrections to the site can be made.

Email Listings

The webmaster will keep an email list of all people wishing to subscribe to email communications from the Unit.  You may subscribe to this list by sending an email to Subscribe@Phoenix323.org.  All subscribers that are not registered members of the Unit, or their parent(s) or legal guardian(s), or Leaders of the Unit will be automatically unsubscribed.  To unsubscribe from this list, send an e-mail to Unsubscribe@Phoenix323.org

Web Site Content

The purpose of this web site is to act as a fast and available channel for dissemination of information about the Unit, its activities and affiliations.

All material published ton this web site is expected to be in good taste.  

Individuals in photographs in the non-secure area of the web site, even in groups, should be included with the written permission of a parent or legal guardian only.  They shall not be identified by their full name, address or phone number, except within the secure area, and then only with the written permission of a parent or legal guardian.

The inclusion of copyrighted material or modification of copyrighted material and the subsequent posting to the web site is prohibited.

No advertising or links to commercial sites that imply endorsement of the entity by the Unit shall be allowed.  Any references to commercial entities from the site should be in order to thank them for their support, if applicable. 

The web site is not to be used for the selling of products.  This includes the use of the unit e-mail addresses for commercial purposes.  No funds are to be collected on-line, regardless of the security of the method.  Commercial products are not to be advertised or sold on the web site.

If any authorized user feels this policy is being violated they should contact the webmaster at webmaster@Phoenix323.org.

Web Site Updating

The web site shall be updated by the webmaster and certain individuals authorized by the webmaster to assist from time to time.

Anyone wishing to have content displayed on the web site should email their request to webmaster@Phoenix323.org.  The webmaster cannot guarantee that the content will be displayed in a timely manner or at all. 

Certain features of the web site (e.g. the Calendar) may allow authorized users to input information that will be available to all other authorized users.  Anyone using this feature agrees to abide by this policy.

Web Links

No links on the site shall refer to other sites that may have questionable material, or that support policies that are in opposition to BSA policies.

Links to external sites must open in a new window. 

Browser Compatibility

The web site will be authored for optimal viewing through a Microsoft Internet Explorer browser (recent version).  While most features should work within all commercially popular browsers, we cannot guarantee that the site will work completely with any browser. 

Official BSA Material

All printed literature sold at the scout shops or available from the BSA, is not to be duplicated and placed on the web site. Items that are distributed freely, such as flyers or tour permit forms, etc., which are not sold, but which are made available freely for information purposes may be posted to the sites
